Alternative Approach for Pulmonary Valvuloplasty in Critical Congenital Pulmonary Stenosis

چکیده
Critical congenital pulmonary stenosis with intact interventricular septum is a cyanotic and potentially lethal neonatal cardiac anomaly. Percutaneous transcatheter balloon valvuloplasty for critical often presents technical difficulties due to supra-systemic pressure in right ventricle. Using transjugular approach instead of the femoral vein helps dealing this issue. We describe successful use internal jugular case stenosis.

Balloon Pulmonary Valvuloplasty in Adults with Congenital Valvular Pulmonary Stenosis
Background: Balloon valvuloplasty has been used for congenital valvular pulmonary stenosis (PS) in pediatric patients as a conventional treatment. The purpose of this study was to further investigate the safety, immediate and long-term results of balloon valvuloplasty in adults with congenital valvular pulmonary stenosis. Method and Result: We analyzed hemodynamic data of 12 patients who underw...
متن کاملRestenosis After Balloon Valvuloplasty in Dogs with Congenital Pulmonary Stenosis
The aims of this study were to reveal the prevalence of complications associated with PBV over a long-term follow-up, and to investigate the factors related to those complications, especially pulmonary restenosis. Forty dogs who underwent PBV were retrospectively reviewed. Long-term follow-up was available in 22 dogs. Exacerbation of PI and TR after PBV was observed in some dogs; however, right...
متن کاملSurgical closed pulmonary valvotomy for critical pulmonary stenosis: implications for the balloon valvuloplasty era.
BACKGROUND Closed pulmonary valvotomy for critical pulmonary stenosis has no apparent advantage over the percutaneous balloon technique, though it is used when balloon valvuloplasty fails. Experience of this technique at the Heart Institute, Tel Hashomer, since it was first used in 1973 has been reviewed. METHODS Thirty eight infants up to 1 year old (25 of them neonates--that is, nil to 1 mo...
متن کاملLong-term Results of Balloon Pulmonary Valvuloplasty in Children with Congenital Pulmonary Valve Stenosis
OBJECTIVE Immediate, short and midterm outcome of balloon pulmonary valvuloplasty are well known, but there is limited information on long term results. We report long term results of 2-13. 5 years follow up of balloon pulmonary valvuloplasty in children. METHODS From June 1998 to January 2012 sixty consecutive patients (33 females, 27 males) with moderate to severe valvar pulmonary stenosis ...
